An antigun zealot [from Australia] took issue with this progun blog and insisted that his country was safer since guns were banned. He didn’t, however, cite any sources. He kept emphasizing that “economics” plays a significant role as a cause for violence in Australia and the US. On the contrary it’s not poverty or the availability of guns but failure to observe Judeo-Christian values coupled with being raised in a broken home with no father that contributes to lawlessness.
Over 50 years ago when strict gun control was non-existent the types of shootings that horrifies us today were virtually nil. Why? Again, because US citizens took seriously the teachings of the Bible. A nation that fears God and follows biblical teachings never needs gun control because it exercises self control. The culture during that period in American history was, simply put, more God fearing than today. When the 1960s rolled in so did the welfare state which consequently encouraged black families to split up. Black women were raising male children alone whom they had difficulty in molding.
Moreover, today there are ample studies available highlighting the fact that from 600,000 to 2 million lives are saved every year because of gun ownership. Google Professor Gary Kleck, David Kopel, and Professor John Lott for confirmation and excellent research.Click Full Story
