Congressman Charlie Rangel once opined that gun control wouldn’t get far because the gun owners are like a cult and would defeat new proposed legislation. In other words lwe’re like brainwashed fanatics. Au contraire. The gun prohibitioinists are the actual brainwashed fanatics in light of the fact that absolutely no crime and accident data supports their position and never did. I learned from a liberal dear friend of mine that facts mean nothing to them and neither does the 2nd Amendment. All they care about is to ban what they consider barbaric and dangerous. Namely, the private ownership of firearms. Some have astutely said that gun control is really people control. When the people are disarmed the powers that be could have a field day in oppressing them. What’s to stop them?
