Late last year Rush Limbaugh opined in no uncertain terms that the “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” military policy would remain intact. And that Obama would be told the hard facts of life that to rescind the policy would have serious unintended consequences like a steep decline in re-enlistments, dissension in the ranks, hostile reactions from heterosexual servicemen and women toward gays, etc. National security would be jeopardized when units could no longer function in harmony.
