Just because a person has the right credentials and experience in his field does not automatically mean that he is “qualified”. Past comments and judicial philosophy should also determine whether a person is “suitable” to become the Attorney General of these United States. Eric Holder is not!

Inhofe: I’m Voting No on Holder for Rights, Justice

U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., cites the right to bear arms, his preference for justice over patronage, and the war on terror as reasons he plans to vote against confirming Eric Holder as attorney general.

Inhofe issued his statement in a news release, as well as on his blog and a YouTube video. The statement:

“I wanted you to be the first to know I am going to vote against to the appointment of Eric Holder to be the next attorney general of the United States.

“I believe I am speaking on behalf of Americans who value their Second Amendment personal right to own their own firearms. I also believe I am speaking on behalf of Americans who favor justice over political patronage. Finally, I believe I am speaking on behalf of Americans who realize we are in a War on Terror and want to continue the strong efforts to bring terrorists to justice. I am opposed to the appointment of Eric Holder . . .

“I take particular interest in this nomination, because I, as well as the voters of the state of Oklahoma, feel strongly that the rights conferred upon us by the Second Amendment of the Constitution guarantee an individual freedom that no government regulation can take away. Eric Holder’s record and his true beliefs about the Second Amendment are clear. In a brief filed in the Heller case, Holder joined other past Department of Justice officials by saying, “The Second Amendment Does Not Protect Firearms Possession or Use That Is Unrelated To Participation In a Well-Regulated Militia” and that “recognition of an expansive individual right to keep and bear arms for private purposes will make it more difficult for the government to defend present and future firearms laws.”

“That he is opposed to the right to keep and bear arms is bad enough, but I am also very uncomfortable with Mr. Holder’s judgment and record on pardons and clemency during the Clinton administration. He apparently chose to circumvent the standard process by which all pardons are considered and granted, and clouded this process with the appearance of impropriety. If the pardon of Marc Rich was not impropriety, and I believe it was, then it was at the very least extreme negligence, and such negligence has no place in any level of government. Marc Rich, whom many label a tax evader, is in fact even more than that. Rich was indicted in 1983 on 65 counts of not only tax evasion, but also fraud, racketeering, and trading with the enemy. Rich fled to Switzerland before he could stand trial, which is perhaps the most egregious element of this case — he was a fugitive and a regular fixture on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted List. And Holder recommended a pardon, bypassed the Department of Justice and the hundreds of individuals who worked to bring Marc Rich to justice, when the man who was being pardoned was not even willing to face the same justice system to which every other American must answer. In fact, Holder admitted during his confirmation hearing that he did not adequately acquaint himself with the facts of the case. The United States Senate should not allow such injustice to go unanswered.

“Equally egregious, Holder was deputy attorney general in an administration which granted clemency to 16 members of the Armed Forces of National Liberation, the terrorist organization FALN. This is a group that carried out violent protests, set off bombs several times in New York City and Chicago and was convicted for conspiracies to commit robbery, bomb-making, and sedition. The Clinton Administration granted clemency despite opposition from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, FBI, and most importantly, the victims of FALN terrorist activities. This was Holder’s recommendation.

“For at least these reasons, I oppose the nomination of an individual who just doesn’t agree with Americans that I know. I will be voting a definitive no on the Holder nomination.

“I hope that if you feel as strongly as I do about this that you will let your feelings be known — just take the time to let your voices be heard in Washington. Start by leaving a comment on my YouTube page. The Senate needs to hear your voice.”

Nov. 4, 2008, America lost the war on terror. President Barack Obama’s feckless, pathetically apologetic perspective on foreign policy spells the end of the quest for liberty in the Middle East. It spells the end of America’s moral leadership in the global war for freedom. And it spells the end of a hard-fought campaign to protect America. Our enemies must be happily celebrating their great good fortune in America’s election of this platitudinous, morally relativistic, Jimmy Carter carbon copy in the midst of battle.

On Jan. 26, 2009, Obama granted his first television interview as president of the United States to Al Arabiya, the Dubai-based television network part-owned by the Saudi government. In the interview, he demonstrated with the utmost clarity that his understanding is inversely proportional to his arrogance.

He started by humbling America before the world. “(A)ll too often the United States starts by dictating,” Obama said, shame for his country dripping from his lips. “So let’s listen.” There was no call for the Muslim world, which has sponsored genocide after genocide, terrorist group upon terrorist group, to listen.

Obama apologized for President Bush’s “Islamic fascism” terminology, equating Muslim terrorism with nonexistent terrorism by Jews and Christians: “The language we use matters. And what we need to understand is, is that there are extremist organizations – whether Muslim or any other faith in the past – that will use faith as a justification for violence. We cannot paint with a broad brush a faith as a consequence of the violence that is done in that faith’s name.” There was no call for the Muslim world to actively fight terrorism – honesty is not the Obama administration’s policy.

Obama repeated the Clintonian line that the Palestinian Arab-Israeli conflict could be solved by pressing Israel into negotiations with terrorists – a foolish conceit that has cost Israeli and Palestinian lives. He talked about getting rid of “preconceptions” regarding the Israeli-Arab conflict – code for embracing negotiations with Hamas. He pledged to talk with Iran – on the same day that Iran’s government spokesman branded the Holocaust “a big lie.” He bought into the Muslim-sponsored notion that the Palestinian Arab-Israeli conflict lies at the heart of all trouble in the Middle East. He praised the one-sided Saudi peace plan as an act of “great courage.”

Most sickeningly, Obama openly jettisoned his constitutional role as the caretaker for America’s national interest. Instead, Obama posed himself as an honest broker between America and the Muslim world. “(T)he United States has a stake in the well-being of the Muslim world, that the language we use has to be a language of respect,” he said. “I have Muslim members of my family. I have lived in Muslim countries.” Obama didn’t stop there. He stated that his job is to speak for the Muslim world, defending them from Americans’ negative perceptions: “And my job is to communicate to the American people that the Muslim world is filled with extraordinary people who simply want to live their lives and see their children live better lives.”

No, Mr. President. Your job is not to communicate to the American people that the Muslim world harbors us no ill will. That is their job. The Muslim world must demonstrate with its words and actions that they do not wish America replaced with an Islamic state. They must demonstrate that they do not support terrorism against America and our allies.

Your job is to protect and defend the United States of America. That is your sworn duty.

And you abrogate your sworn duty every time you go on Arab television stations and apologize for America’s foreign policy. You abrogate your sworn duty every time you force American allies to negotiate with terrorists. You abrogate your sworn duty every time you pledge to protect the interests “not just of the United States, but also ordinary people who right now are suffering from poverty and a lack of opportunity” – the same ordinary people who elect Hamas, prop up the ayatollahs, supported the Taliban, recruit for al-Qaida, and live off of the beneficence of Hezbollah. Not all Muslims are “extraordinary people,” and the interests of suffering Muslims do not always align with American interests.

On Nov. 4, 2008, Americans elected their first international president. They elected a man who does not seek to preserve American values. Leftists perceived George W. Bush as an imperialist for American interests; by the same token, Obama is an imperialist for “global interests.” In a war to save America from implacable foes, Obama’s Global Interest Imperialism dooms American exceptionalism to the ash heap of history. With it may go the last, best hope of earth.

Our enemies have a lot to cheer about since the election of President Obama. He reminds me of infamous Neville Chamberlain who thought it was prudent and honorable to sit down with Adolf Hitler and assure him that England sought peace and not war with Germany. Islamic Group Advises Obama Administration
January 22, 2009 – A coalition of 12 Muslim groups held a mostly-unreported press conference last month and issued an open letter to President-Elect Obama asking that he put Muslims in key positions within the federal government.

The press conference was spearheaded by the American Muslim Task Force On Civil Rights And Elections (AMT) – a relatively new group. The AMT press conference is posted on the C-SPAN web site for viewing.

Part of the open letter was published – not the entire document. The portion published stated: “We…wish to see you instruct senior officials in your administration to reinstate roundtables with Muslim leadership for all departments, such as State, Justice, Homeland Security and Health and Human Services.”

The coalition decided against making the entire letter available to the press in view of the Hamas-Islamic-inspired violence in the Gaza Strip against Israel over the holidays.

Other Islamic Radical Efforts Underway

The AMT is steamrolling its efforts to influence American policy in the Obama Administration. It is holding a Muslim Media Conference on February 6, 2009 at the L’Enfant Plaza Hotel in Washington, DC. The media conference will cover organized Islamic politics in America, strategy development, voting patterns, and plans for the future to influence American politics.

On February 7, it will hold a National Civil Rights Convention – which will include leaders from various civil rights groups. According to AMT: “This convention will be an important event in shaping the national debate about the civil liberties and human rights agenda of the Obama Administration.”

The AMT describes itself as an umbrella organization representing the American Muslim Alliance; American Muslims for Palestine; Council on American Islamic Relations; Muslim Alliance in North America; Muslim American Society-Freedom Foundation; Muslim Student Association; Muslim Ummah of North America; United Muslims of America; Islamic Education Center of Orange County; Islamic Society of North America and the Muslim Affairs Council.

“Traditional Values Coalition will be closely monitoring the activities of AMT and its radical associates,” said TVC Executive Director Andrea Lafferty. “We will oppose any effort by these radical groups to impose Islamic ideology or policies in the federal government or Shariah Law upon our culture. These groups want Islam to rule the world – and they are using our First Amendment freedoms to undermine our Judeo-Christian way of life. Make no mistake: Islam is at war with Judaism and Christianity. ”

In addition to AMT efforts to impose Islamic values upon America, a DC-based radio station launched an Islamic talk radio show in December 2008. New World Radio WUST is hosting the program. The show, “The Crescent Report” is hosted by Mahdi Bray. It targets 1.5 million listeners in the Washington, DC area. Bray is Executive Director of the Muslim American Society’s (MAS) Freedom Foundation. Bray’s first guest on the show was Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to the House of Representatives.

The Muslim American Society has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, a radical group that seeks the destruction of Israel and America. Bray has a radical background. He was a member of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) – a radical Marxist group – and is currently affiliated with International Answer, a front group created by the World Workers Party (a communist group that supports North Korea).

I am now totally convinced that gun control supporters are in the same class as cult members. They are so obsessed in their hatred and fear of guns [and law abiding gun owners] that reason has gone out of the window. In the late 1980s I sent about eight manila envelopes filled with progun data that completely refuted the antigun movement’s position to the publisher and several editors of New York Newsday. My challenge to them was to read the material and then to provide me with a study that definitively proved that gun control actually worked in America. I made it clear that they were not to include foreign studies from Handgun Control, Inc. Shortly thereafter, and to my dismay and utter surprise, an editor by the name of Joseph Dolman responded to me and my reaction was one of incredulity when I read his remarks. He cited a study about how low the violent crime rate was in Britain and asserted that this was due to a handgun ban. His source? Handgun Control, Inc. – which I explicitly asked him not to include.

He then proceeded to reveal more woeful ignorance by asking me the following:
“How come the NRA isn’t litigating the 2nd Amendment issue in the federal courts? Because they know they would lose.” Duh! I wrote him back to chastise him for using HCI and for being unaware that a simple phone call to the NRA would enable him to find out exactly what their legislative agenda was – including on the federal level. To me it was an eye opener, an epiphany if you will, that a so-called journalist could be so poorly informed about an important issue like gun control. I had always thought that all journalists were well informed about the pressing issues of our day. Pardon my naiveté. He never responded to my follow up letter.

A few months later my mouth dropped open when I read a byline by Dolman arguing for more gun control. His reason? His wife was robbed on Eastern Parkway by a thug with an “assault rifle”. The incident had occurred prior to receiving my progun material. What I learned was that not only was he poorly informed about the gun issue but that he was obviously biased too based on his wife’s terrifying ordeal in Brooklyn. As I closely monitored the media it became apparent that he was in good company because virtually every large metropolitan area newspaper held the same views. But let’s not confuse them with the facts.
