That socialized medicine always leads to rationed care is borne out when you analyze Britain and Canada in particular. With the government in charge of medical decisions such as the dispensing of medications and certain lab tests and use of medical equipment and surgical procedures the outcome has been to ration all of the above. Sometimes life extending drugs are disallowed because the government deems it too costly and imprudent. That former South Dakota Senator Tom Daschle (D) extolled the wisdom of the European’s reluctance to treat the elderly like any other “younger” patients speaks volumes. Add to the mix when Ezekiel Emanuel, MD [brother of Rahm Emanuel] opined that some physicians took the Hippocratic Oath “too seriously” how can any clear thinking and honest person not assume that death panels will become part and parcel of ObamaCare?Click Full Story.

Initially, Gamal had planned to build a condominium complex at the site, but was convinced by Rauf’s idea for a cultural centre with a prayer space, especially as the Muslim community
in New York had been growing for some time.

If you have time to read the entire article, it has an interesting point of view. It was written by and for “outsiders” (Europeans) who aren’t part of our political process.

There is a Wikipedia article that summarizes the Cordoba Project and another about Soho Properties. It’s probably best to be careful about Wikipedia articles on controversial issues, but these looked fairly neutral at first glance.

There’s been a fair amount of screaming recently in the news about a “refusal to reveal the sources of their funding for the project.” I don’t think that means they are hiding something shady. I think it means they haven’t got the 100 million yet.

I think the business owners, property owners and residents of Lower Manhattan are the only ones to decide whether this project should be built. Not Glen Beck, Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich or Barack Obama. It’s not up to the people of New York City or Los Angeles how we run things here in Olean, NY either.

If it was up to me then I’d say: Hey, let’s raise $100 million, buy the property and put up a true multi-cultural peace center. We can have a Christian chapel, a Synagogue, a Mosque and a little barn out back for the Amish to stable their horses. Soho Properties can donate the real estate and get a plaque with their name on it. Obama can pledge some of that economic recovery money.

Now that the US Supreme Court has upheld the Second Amendment as an individual right, and not a collective right, the City of Chicago has embarked upon another “clever” but transparent gun prohibitionist campaign. It is now required of handgun applicants to attend one hour gun familiarization classes. The problem is that because local gun ranges are going to be shut down the applicant must travel outside of city limits to attend the classes. Are you really surprised that President Obama finally spoke out in favor of allowing a mosque to be built near Ground Zero? According to him it’s a freedom of religion issue. That’s the typical propaganda line from liberals. That the insistence to build the mosque is actually pouring salt into the wounds of surviving family members of the victims of 9-11 seemed not to move the president one iota. In his arrogance he is also galvanizing American voters to come out in droves this November to make a statement and to get our country back.

Now we have a government sponsored curriculum to be introduced into government schools (aka public schools) dripping with hostility toward what we Americans hold as dear. Over and over again I have complained to family and friends about how those blasted judges are the ones creating consternation by going against not just the will of the people but against common sense, too.
